Distilled and coalesced,

It sounds like this.

That even though we know

We're saved by grace through faith

In Jesus Christ alone,

The things we do

Or do not do,

For if the God of all

Has promised all,

Then what will happen,

If we won't let Him change

Our wicked ways?Zechariah 7:8-13

Will barren branches,

Or those who choose

To bear bad fruit,

Survive?Luke 13:6-9

Or will those who say

They love the Lord,

And yet whose deeds

Deny His holy name,

Be saved?Matthew 7:22-23

The Bible abounds

With stories,

Of those who thought

They could.

And it tells of the woes

Of those who walked,

With those who walked with God,

But they themselves,

And yet even though

We know their stories

Are we always confident,

We know the way

Our story will?

Or has it ever seemed like,

The more we try

To be like Him,

The less we seem

To do His will?Romans 7:18-19, 24

For even though we know

The Lord forgives us,

When we have to ask Him

For forgiveness,1 John 1:9

What about our neighbor?

Or our friend?

Or our spouse?

Do we ever start to wonder
